APPROACHING THE HORIZON, TOGETHER.
New Year’s Day always feels like an invitation. An invitation to pause, to breathe, and to look toward the horizon; both the one behind us, shaped by what has been, and the one ahead, full of possibility. It’s a day that holds reflection and anticipation side by side, a reminder that every ending carries the promise of a beginning. And this year, that feeling is stronger than ever, as we pause on the edge of a journey that is only just revealing the horizon we’ve been moving toward.
Two years ago, on New Year’s Eve, we shared a post here announcing that we were writing a book together. At the time, it felt like a bold and joyful leap into the unknown. We had ideas, questions, and a strong sense of purpose; but we also knew the journey ahead would require research, commitment, trust, and time. Today, two years later, we are absolutely delighted to share some exciting news. The manuscript is complete!
Even writing those words brings a smile.
What has unfolded over the past two years has been rich, challenging, and deeply rewarding, full of twists and turns but always pointing us in the right direction. Our ideas have been drafted, refined and shaped through a rigorous developmental editing process that pushed our thinking, sharpened our ideas, and strengthened the work in ways we’re incredibly proud of. We'll be sharing more about that in the coming months.
It’s been demanding and energising in equal measure, and it has affirmed why we said yes to this project in the first place. Along the way, we’ve also been incredibly fortunate to collaborate with many generous people as we researched the processes of publishing and editing our book. We’re deeply thankful to those who helped us learn more about how this world works, shared their own publishing journeys with us, and offered gentle nudges of encouragement at just the right moments. Our collaboration has been enriched by many generous conversations, insights, and acts of kindness. And we’re not done yet.
Right now, we’re collaborating with a graphic designer to bring the look and feel of the manuscript to life. Seeing the ideas we’ve lived with for so long begin to take on a visual identity is really exciting. It feels like this work is getting ready to step out into the world, becoming something we can’t wait to share.
As this new year begins, we’re filled with excitement about what’s ahead. Over the coming months, we’ll be keeping you very much in the loop as we move closer to publication, sharing updates along the way and announcing a launch date soon. We can’t wait to share this work with you.
